I started
to decide what or who would make the difference in my life. Who and what
would constitute my lifeline? This was not difficult for me. I have formed
my lifelines already.
The diagnosis
of cancer turns your world upside down and you need to fill up that sense
of loss or possible loss. I put the people closest and dearest to me around
my heart. The picture of a women and shadow of a man depicts my husband
and myself. My children's pictures are next. They are side by side as I
love them all equally. The objects within the tracing are the most important
to me. I also have a picture of a nurse, as this is very important to me.
I love nursing. The activities that I like to do are on the outside of
the tracing. These are things that help keep me sane, but some are things
that I can do without if I have to temporarily. I have a mastectomy bra
outside by my scar. I don't think that I would have an implant, but would
like to avoid questions and looks from outsiders.
