Science or Pseudo-science:
A Contemporary Issues Seminar
Spring Term 2000
Course Description:Theories
and ideas concerning astrology, extra sensory perception, life after death,
witchcraft, non-traditional healing, and alien visitations (just to name
a few) are sometimes classified as pseudo-science, while theories of time
dilation, black holes, the evolution of the species, and the Big Bang are
classified as science. In this course we will attempt to understand why
some ideas are accepted as science while others are not.
