Shard of the Sherd of Amenartas, q.v. long
in the possession of the Vincey family. The original sherd
measured ten and a half inches in length by seven in width, and
was densely covered both on the concave
and on the converse sides with inscriptions in various languages
and of varying degrees of antiquity.
