Moth-wings, species unknown, a sort of memento mori
recovered by Dr. Carbury (not, as he suggests, without
considerable difficulty and indeed not, apparently,
without some danger to his own person) from the clutches
of a certain ominous-looking white spider encountered by
the good doctor and a friend during a stroll down a rural
New Hampshire lane.  The friend, as Carbury recalls the
scene, became visibly agitated when confronted by the
moth-bearing arachnid found unexpectedly loitering, dimpled
and fat, upon the petals of an unusual white flower growing
by the side of the road.  Provenance: Collection of Dr. Josiah
Carberry, former Professor of Psycho-Ceramics, Brown University.
