A portion of the ancient cast-iron fence formerly encircling an
old and rat-infested chapel, one of the partially ruined buildings
at Carfax Abbey, near Purfleet in England.  It was in this chapel
that fifty ominous wooden boxes were stored, sent there from
Varna on the ship Demeter on the orders of Count Dracula.
