Anthropology in South Africa

Dr. Connie Anderson has been engaged in research in South Africa in collaboration with Hartwick students for several years.  Many students working with her have helped to investigate local conflict resolution programs and methods, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, trauma counseling for victims of violence, and the role of sports in racial reconciliation and nation building.  These projects have produced many papers at professional conferences and published in leading journals, with a total of 13 students as joint authors so far. In addition to
Anthropology majors, students majoring in Biology, Economics, Geology, Management, Psychology, and sociology have contributed to one or more of the following research projects and the publications that have resulted.
